ONLY Fools and Horses creator John Sullivan stepped in to save a bull that appeared in hit spin-off show The Green Green Grass.
John Challis, who plays Boycie in the BBC1 sitcom, heard Henry the bull - known to viewers as Rocky - was being sent to auction and alerted Sullivan, who bought the animal.
The writer said: "If Henry had gone to auction, at his age he would certainly have been on the way to an abattoir.
"There was no way I could let that happen."
Henry will appear in the show's Christmas special and then live out his days at Only Foals And Horses, a sanctuary backed by Sullivan, 58.
