Del and Rodders are no more but John Sullivan's spin off, The Green Green Grass, is proving a fine successor - more Frasier than Joey - and its first Christmas Special will indicate just how much appeal it has.

Boycie (John Challis) and Marlene (Sue Holderness) are settled into their new life on Winterdown Farm and have a chance to become part of the country set at the agricultural ball. When Boycie learns royalty are often in attendance, they're off like a shot - with Marlene dressed in an outrageous pink chiffon ball gown
